CHiP (Canine Home Intelligent Pet) is the kind of dog you would want if you want the dog without the hair, mess, and responsibility. The robot is based on Mechatronics, the latest in a combination of wireless technology, telecommunications engineering and a contains a bunch of sensors.

CHiP can recognize its master and respond to commands using the included SmartBand, a rechargeable wearable controller. CHiP also plays fetch and fun games with a SmartBall (CHiP plays soccer), so users can interact with the robot like a real dog. Unlike your living dog,  CHiP knows when it’s time to head to its special SmartBed and recharge, too. The robot will be available this year for $200.
