TED 2017: The Future You

April 24, 2017 - April 28, 2017

ted_2017

In this exciting week, a program of more than 70 speakers will explore deep scientific and psychological insights, the latest medical advances, the neatest inventions, all mixed with a dose of ancient wisdom, to ask the questions about ourselves that we often don’t have time for.

Most TEDs are focused on the world at large and the ideas that animate it. But for 2017, we want to make it more explicitly personal, to invite our speakers to help each of us build a toolkit for personal learning, growth, empowerment.

  • And we’re not talking soft-edged self-help woo. We’re talking about questions like?
  • How is it possible to give my reflective self power over my instinctive self?
  • Can I use technology to limit my addiction to technology?
  • Which inventions will have a big impact on me over the next few years?
  • How can I become a transformational leader?
  • What are the medical discoveries I absolutely need to know about?
  • What skills can my kids build that are future-proof?
  • How do we design an environment that is nurturing, human, satisfying, exciting?
  • What does success look like, without self at the center?
  • Who am I?

What is the TED Conference?

Every year, TED hosts an annual conference — it’s where a lot of our free TED Talks come from. Speakers from around the world are invited to join a five-day gathering to share ideas, conversations and insights with an audience of about 1,400 people.

Apply to join the audience at TED2017. There are many ways to attend TED, from winning one of the prestigious TED Fellows positions, which comes with free attendance, to attending at a standard, Donor, or Patron level, or attending as an active member of one of TED’s volunteer communities, such the TEDx program. While the cost to attend can be significant, more than half of the fee is tax-deductible, as a donation to the Sapling Foundation, which owns TED and supports the mission of sharing ideas freely to the world in multiple languages and on multiple platforms.

You may have heard you need to be invited to go to TED. Well, yes and no. If you’d like to be invited — please apply!
