Golfers, what you really need are some smart shoes to improve your game

Since we can turn any ordinary act into a connected one, a start-up company has incorporated high-tech shoes and a mobile app into the game of golf.

IOFIT is a pair of smart golf shoes that will analyze your golf swing and provide instant feedback via an accompanying mobile app to improve your game.

The smart shoes measure your balance and weight shift in real-time using thin pressure sensors that are embedded in the out sole. They they wirelessly transfer the data to your smartphone via Bluetooth.

IOFIT was designed to detect every change in pressure distribution in a matter of milliseconds. The sensors are waterproof and built to withstand excessive amount of weight —up to 330 lbs.

The system tracks data such as pressure distribution, CoP (Center of Pressure), left-right balance, and front-back balance in real-time. When a user takes a swing while wearing IOFIT, he or she will receive the kind of data that is accessible to professional golfers and coaches.

IOFIT will analyze your swing based on your balance data and highlight mistakes you are making, even ones that are as simple as leaning forward too much or transitioning your weight too late at the impact.

IOFIT creators have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their device, so if you’re interested, you can snag one for an early-bird price of $189, with shipping expected in February.
