Microchip and Delta Electronics Join Forces to Advance Silicon Carbide Power Solutions

As global demand surges for more efficient and sustainable energy systems, Microchip Technology and Delta Electronics have entered into a new strategic partnership to accelerate the development of high-efficiency silicon carbide (SiC) power solutions. The collaboration will integrate Microchip’s mSiC™ technology into Delta’s next-generation power management designs, targeting critical markets like AI, mobility, automation, and infrastructure.

Powering the Electrification Era

Driven by the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and the global push to electrify everything—from vehicles to industrial systems—engineers face mounting pressure to design power solutions that are smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient. That’s where SiC comes in.

“Silicon carbide is increasingly vital in enabling sustainable power designs due to its wide-bandgap properties,” said Clayton Pillion, vice president of Microchip’s high-power solutions business unit. “It allows for higher efficiency, reduced system size, and lower overall costs in high-voltage, high-power applications.”

By working with Delta, a global leader in smart energy and green solutions, Microchip aims to accelerate the adoption of its mSiC product family across emerging applications that demand advanced power performance.

Strategic Collaboration for Faster Innovation

Under the new agreement, Delta will incorporate Microchip’s SiC MOSFETs, diodes, and gate drivers—available in standard, modified, and custom configurations—into its product platforms. The partnership will include joint validation efforts, early access to product samples, and direct support from Microchip’s engineering and R&D teams.

For Delta, the partnership is part of a larger effort to continually integrate next-generation technology into its high-efficiency systems. The company sees SiC as a core enabler of its roadmap to deliver smarter, more sustainable solutions in power-hungry sectors.

By combining Microchip’s decades of SiC expertise with Delta’s market reach and product innovation, the partnership promises faster time-to-market for solutions that help customers navigate the shift toward electrification and intelligent energy infrastructure.

A Greener Path Forward

With more than 20 years of experience in developing and supporting power semiconductor solutions, Microchip’s mSiC technology is engineered for flexibility, performance, and reliability—key requirements as industries evolve toward more energy-conscious systems.
