Pocket-sized security system tracks anything you want

A Sweden and San Francisco-based company named Stilla has just revealed a motion-detecting product that will track anything you say it should.

Stilla Motion combines motion-detecting tech and artificial intelligence to send users alerts when something (like a bag, door, or bike) moves when it shouldn’t be.

The security systems is about the size of a silver dollar and instantly alerting you when your items are moved in an attempt to prevent you from losing any items that will require the help of some other technology to find.

“Rather than solving problems, Stilla Motion prevents them from happening in the first place,” said Elin Elkehag, CEO and Founder, Stilla.

Still launched the device on crowdfunding website Indiegogo and within 10 hours find itself reaching its funding goal.

The device provides sound, vibration, and image alerts and is equipped with an 85+ dB alarm, as well as a replaceable battery with a one-year lifespan. Users can harness the power of the out-of-range-alarm that notifies them up to 150-feet if they leave an item behind.

Stilla Motion uses variable motion sensitivity settings and AI algorithms to carry out tasks like protecting or luggage while out in public, guarding laptops or computer bags, protecting doors and windows from burglars (like a portable alarm system), and even notifying users when a child or in-need elderly person walks away unattended.

The  algorithms work by separating out different kinds of movements to determine the difference in motion patterns. So, for example, the device knows the difference between someone leaving a bag on the floor of a moving train and someone picking it up to steal it.

Elin Elkehag plans to expand on the product for the maker community, too, first looking  to get Stilla into the consumer market, and then turning it into an open source hardware device and extending its reach and functionality through new partnerships and technologies that are currently under development.

“I want to bring beauty to the world of innovation — to create exceptional technology with elegant and user-friendly design to match.” said Elin Elkehag.

If you’re interested in pre-ordering, visit Indiegogo, where early supporters can snag it for an early bird price of $25, before it hits retail next year. Stilla Motion will start shipping to backers the beginning of next year.
