Sony’s Wi-Fi connected smart light doubles as an autonomous controller for your home

After an eventful week of releases at CES, Sony decided to unveil another new product on its Japan-based corporate website.

As the new product’s name suggests, The Multifunctional Light wears many hats around the home. According to the company, the light comes equipped with sensors that can detect motion and temperature, and even acts as an audio speaker for the home. In the Sony promotional video, the light’s speaker even acts as a phone speaker so mom can talk to those in the house directly through the light.

Users can set temperature and timing requests and allow the Mutlifunctional Light to turn the home air conditioner or lights on and off when desired.

The light system also comes equipped with a microSD memory card slot, but the company does not specify what it would be used for.
