Fisher Price’s Code-a-pillar will teach your toddler how to code

How young is too young when it comes to programming? Fisher Price doesn’t think teaching pre-schoolers how to code is too soon.

The toy company revealed its newest STEM toy, the Think & Learn Code-a-pillar, at CES last week.

The toy aims to expose children to coding skills like problem solving and sequencing in order to prepare them for the future.

According to reports, Fisher Price will begin selling the Think & Learn Codeapillar for $50 in June. The education toy will come with separate pieces that each perform different functions so that kids can attach them to one in other and in different orders to make the caterpillar move, glow and makes noises. The company will also sell separate add-on pieces for new features and tricks. As an added tech bonus, Fisher Price has made the toy compatible with an app that will increase programming difficulty as they get older.

More details will be revealed on the company’s website in the near future.
