Adidas has just revealed the future of footwear in its new video where it shows off its newest sneakers, Futurecraft 3D — a 3D-printed shoe midsole that can be tailored and customized to fit a person’s foot.

Adidas’ 3D concept is part of the ‘Futurecraft series’, a forward-looking initiative that places open-source collaboration and craftsmanship at the heart of design to drive innovation across all elements of production.

The company will use a custom-made combination of material and process to provide a personal experience for buyers, and most importantly, support and cushioning for their feet.  Adidas’ goal is to employ 3D printing in order to get buyers their perfect-fit shoe by creating a breathable and flexible carbon copy of their footprints, matching exact contours and pressure points.
