PEI-Genesis, a global supplier of engineered interconnect solutions, is celebrating its 80th anniversary—an achievement that reflects decades of evolution alongside the electronics industry itself. Founded in 1946 in Philadelphia by Bernie Bernbaum and Murray Fisher, the company began as a small distributor supplying vacuum tubes and test equipment to engineers working in the rapidly expanding post–World War II electronics market.
Over the following decades, PEI-Genesis steadily expanded its capabilities and geographic reach. What started as a regional distribution business grew into a global operation spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. Throughout that growth, the company focused heavily on connector expertise and rapid assembly services, building a reputation among engineers and OEMs for delivering custom-engineered interconnect solutions with fast turnaround times.
Strategic acquisitions have played a key role in shaping the company’s modern portfolio. In 2022, PEI-Genesis acquired Testco, Inc., a supplier known for serving the industrial and power electronics sectors. The acquisition strengthened PEI-Genesis’ ability to support demanding applications that require specialized interconnect solutions. A year later, the company expanded into the RF connector market, adding high-frequency connectivity products designed for applications where signal integrity, speed, and reliability are critical.
The company’s most recent move—acquiring Bel Stewart s.r.o.—further expands its technical capabilities and global footprint. The addition of Bel Stewart enhances PEI-Genesis’ ability to support customers with a broader range of connector technologies and value-added manufacturing services across international markets.
