ABB charging technology available in 95% of countries with EV presence

Having sat at the heart of developments in Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure throughout the last decade, ABB is delighted to announce that its charging technology is now available in 95% of the worlds countries with an EV presence*.

From Australia to Azerbaijan and India to Iceland, ABB’s sales of DC fast chargers has now exceeded 6,500, ranging from 50 up to 450kW and includes high-power chargers for both cars and buses.

Following 12 years of research and development, ABB offers an extensive range of internet-based charging products, part of the ABB Ability portfolio of connected solutions.

Supporting all global e-mobility charging standards, ABB chargers are designed to be highly durable, reliable, effective and long lasting, with in-built future proofing. Their modular construction ensures continued operation and the use of industry-grade components guarantee an extended lifetime and robust operation.

This commitment to innovation has culminated in two product launches in just the last two months; the Terra HP, which is the first 150-350kW solution for electric cars, and ABB’s smart charging HVC solution for bus depots.

Ideally suited for use at highway rest stops and petrol stations, Terra HP’s ultra-high current design has the capacity to charge both 400 and 800V cars at full power. Meanwhile, the HVC-Overnight Charger offers a compact, single power cabinet paired with up to three charge boxes that can be upgraded from 50 to 100kW or 150kW at any time.

ABB Ability delivers web-enabled connectivity that allows e-mobility charging network operators to perform several functions, including the remote monitoring and configuring of charge points, the resolution of driver issues, the servicing of equipment with minimal downtime and the flexibility to connect to any charging network, back-office, payment or energy management solution.

For added peace of mind, ABB Charger Care is also available for all ABB e-mobility charging products. Designed to minimize downtime, Charger Care provides a number of modules including proactive monitoring, preventative and corrective maintenance, training programs and software upgrades.
