Our smartphones are pretty smart, so a company has decided to create an equally smart smartphone charger.
An Australia-based team of developers has created the UsBidi Charger that not only doubles the charging speed on a computer USB, but also has auto shut-off capabilities that shut the power once the device is completely charged so you don’t have to unplug. The feature spares devices from battery killers like heat and mini-charging-cycles and the company boasts extended battery life and longer-lasting charges.
Additional features include an LED indicator which shows you the charging status and magnetic ends for tidy hold.
UsBidi charger is designed to work with phones and tablets and is available for both Apple and Android devices.
Faster charging times
According to the company’s Kickstarter campaign page, the UsBidi charges devices two times faster than ordinary chargers.
When your phone is plugged into a computer’s USB port, the regular charger will do data syncing and charging at the same time. Once it stops data syncing, all the power available will be used to boost the charging speed.
When you finish syncing, you can press the button to switch into Smart & Fast mode which will double the charging speed and cut charging time in half.
If you’re interested, you can pre-order one on the Kickstarter page for $36. So far, the company has raised over $240,000 of its initial $25,000 funding goal with another month left in its campaign.
