Today’s Tech Photo: Hobbyist modifies IBM Aptiva, creates 128GB floppy drive

A hobbyist and computer enthusiast under the alias “Dr. Moddnstine” has just revamped a 1995 IBM Aptiva. Though he’s not the first to take on computer modifications, he did also create a floppy disk drive with 128 GB of storage space — the equivalent of 188,574 1.44 MB floppy disks.

What’s inside?

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII GENE Micro ATX LGA1151 Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5″ Solid State Drive Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 390 8GB Power Supply: Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

“At first glance, you’d think cool dos-box bro, a cool uglyish early 90’s looking case with exposed floppy drive. I can’t wait to show up to a LAN party with this thing,” Dr. Moddnstine writes on Imgur.
