MIKROE introduces UNI Hall 3 Click for low-power magnetic sensing

MIKROE has introduced UNI Hall 3 Click, a compact development board designed for contactless position sensing and magnetic field detection. Built around Allegro MicroSystems’ A31015KEWALT-47SN linear Hall-effect sensor, the board targets low-power applications ranging from industrial automation and human-machine interfaces to smart home devices.

The sensor provides a ratiometric analog output with a typical 15kHz bandwidth, allowing it to track changing magnetic fields. It supports selectable 3.3V and 5V operation, with typical sensitivity of 4.7mV/G and 7.1mV/G, respectively. For designs that require periodic measurements, GPIO-controlled sleep functionality reduces current consumption to 65pA, with a typical wake-up time of 10µs.

The board also incorporates MIKROE’s Click Snap technology, which allows the sensor section to be separated from the main PCB for placement closer to a magnet or inside a space-constrained assembly. ClickID circuitry provides automatic board identification on supported development platforms.

UNI Hall 3 Click is compatible with the mikroBUS standard and supported by MIKROE’s mikroSDK libraries and NECTO Studio development environment, providing a starting point for evaluating magnetic sensing in embedded applications.
