This complete Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) module enables designers to add BLE connectivity to any embedded system. The low power requirement and small footprint of the CY5671 make it ideal for medical, home entertainment, and computing applications.
The Cypress CY5671 PRoC BLE Module, available from Mouser Electronics, features a PRoC BLE device, an easy-to-use, ARM® Cortex®-M0 based, single-chip solution that integrates BLE and Cypress’s CapSense® technology for touch-sensing. Also on board are a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC); four 16-bit timer/counter/PWM (TCPWM) blocks; and two serial communication blocks, configurable as I2C, SPI, or UART.
The module contains two crystals for the antenna matching network, a PCB antenna and other passives, while providing access to all GPIOs of the device. The CY5671 module is qualified for Bluetooth 4.1 specifications and can be used standalone with an external programmer like the CY8CKIT-002 MiniProg3; or plug it into theCY8CKIT-042-BLE Bluetooth Low Energy Pioneer Kit and design projects with the Cypress PSoC Creator™ IDE. When used with the CY8CKIT BLE Pioneer Baseboard, the CY5671 module has regulatory approval (for developmental purposes only) for the 2.4 GHz unlicensed frequency range in certain regions, including the United States, Canada, and EU.
