Rejoice! Someone has finally invented a machine that folds your laundry

For those individuals who absolutely dread laundry day and the accompanying mounds of clothing to fold — here’s the machine you’ve been waiting for. The FoldiMate could potentially be the next household desire after a washer and dryer.

The creators of the FoldiMate invented a patented technology that crams a robotic laundry helper into a compact machine. The machine itself is about the same size as your standard household washing machine and can fold pretty much anything except really small items like underwear in just five seconds.

Pre-orders have not yet commenced, but when it happens, the machine will sell for around $700- to $800 and begin shipping 12 to 18 months after ordering.

When it comes to folding, the machine will have you covered, but you’ll still need to take out the iron from time-to-time. FoldiMate will reduce any wrinkles on items that go through the optional steam process, but it won’t replace ironing your dress shirts.

The company compares the FoldiMate robot to using a dishwasher over washing your dishes manually.

Watch it in action.
