You’ll never forget your connected umbrella that gives you weather updates

Hate when you forget to check the weather, or even worse, forget your umbrella once you find out it’s going to rain?

Wezzoo, a social and real-time weather service, wanted to dive deeper into weather services so it developed the oombrella — an Internet-connected umbrella that offers all kinds of notifications to its users.

The company not only wanted to offer weather notifications, but also wanted to make sure nobody ever left home without an umbrella.

Oombrella’s hyper-local weather data and tracking skills keep users informed and notified and also allows for activity tracking so they can see how the weather has been over a period of time.

The umbrella comes equipped with sensors integrated into the handle to measure temperature, pressure, humidity and light. The company uses the acquired data to create personalized notifications, such as “Take me with you. It will rain in 15 minutes.”

There is also a screw thread on top of the oombrella so users can screw on a GoPro or other mountable camera and catch some video from a higher position while out in the rain.

Ombrella is wind-resistant and can be personalized by color, shine, and size.

Weezzoo has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the oombrella. Currently, early birds can secure one for $66, with shipping expected in October.
