Power Management Unit and Analog IP Licensed

Vidatronic, a provider of analog, power management unit (PMU) and CMOS radio frequency (RF) Intellectual Property (IP) licenses, has announced that they will provide PMU and analog IP cores to multinational semiconductor and software design company, Arm, for use in their solutions.

IP is the foundation of the semiconductor industry, and its importance continues to grow as more companies build their own Systems-on-a-Chip (SoCs) in advanced processes with very small geometries. Designers of modern SoCs seek to integrate more functionality onto a single chip. In addition to microprocessor, memory and standard cell IP, they increasingly need analog, power management unit and wireless IP to design their SoCs.

These companies need trusted providers to deliver production quality IP to get their products to market faster with lower overall risk. Vidatronic provides analog, PMU and RF IP cores in CMOS planar, FinFET and FDSOI processes from 180nm down to 5nm. Vidatronic technologies give the customer’s SoC feature and performance advantages, such as reduced board area and cost while maintaining low-noise and low-power consumption.

Arm, recognizing Vidatronic’s extensive experience and capabilities, chose Vidatronic to supply them with analog and PMU IP cores.

“We are extremely excited for the opportunity to contribute to Arm’s success with our expertise in power management unit and analog IP cores,” said Moises E. Robinson, Ph.D., President and Co-Founder of Vidatronic. “Our engineers have hundreds of years of experience in production analog and mixed-signal design, particularly with advanced process technologies in geometries as small as 5nm, and are well-equipped to meet the challenging requirements of Arm’s industry-leading solutions.”
