Qorvo Launches AI-Powered Virtual FAE for Engineering Design Support

Qorvo, now part of Skyworks, has introduced Qorvo AI, a virtual field application engineer (FAE) designed to help engineers find components, access technical documentation, and get answers to design-related questions. The tool is part of a redesigned Qorvo website that aims to simplify how engineers search for and evaluate semiconductor solutions.

The AI assistant is trained on Qorvo’s library of technical resources and allows engineers to ask questions using natural language instead of searching through multiple datasheets or product pages. Available 24/7, the tool provides context-aware responses based on engineering requirements, including frequency, voltage, and efficiency specifications.

For example, engineers evaluating a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) can enter specific operating requirements to identify potential components. Similarly, engineers working on RF designs can search for solutions that meet particular frequency or performance requirements.

Beyond component selection, Qorvo AI helps users locate application notes, whitepapers, and block diagrams to support design research and evaluation. According to Qorvo, improvements to the website have reduced the number of clicks required to access key technical resources by more than half.

The virtual FAE is intended to provide immediate assistance during the early stages of design, particularly when engineers need technical information outside normal business hours. It complements Qorvo’s existing engineering support services, with human FAEs remaining available for more complex design challenges.

Qorvo notes that responses generated by the AI assistant may be incomplete or inaccurate and recommends verifying critical information against official product documentation.

The company has also published a video demonstration showing how the assistant works within its redesigned website.
